Germany came second. The TV signal held up for the final. But it could have all been so much worse… just imagine if Germany had played Austria in the final… with a commentary from South American ex-pat Germans…

well I actually got round to reading the book while we were on holiday this year and it was really bugging the wife because I kept on ruining the peace and quiet with bouts of hysterical laughter…
What an epic little book, almost all of your observations and assumptions were identical to mine ….keep up the good work !
